Dying Light is getting a huge expansion titled "The Following" in the near future, and developer Techland is asking fans for help in bringing it to life.
One mission in "The Following" will involve an abandoned post office. And what do post offices have? Letters! Lots and lots of letters, and in the case of Dying Light, letters to the outside world from survivors trapped within the Quarantine zone. Techland is asking players to submit their own 200-word survival letters via Techland's official Facebook page.
"Imagine if that was you; trapped in a place in which things are changing for the worse," Techland proposes. "What words would you write? Who would you send the letter to? We want you to be those survivors."
Submitting a letter is easy, too. No postage required — just simply type up your message and send it to Techland in a Facebook message. They'll gather all the letters and then select their favorites to make it into the game. Techland will be taking submissions up until October 1.
It's cool to see Techland getting the community involved, and there will no doubt be some great (and most likely hilarious) letters submitted.
The only problem is we still don't know when "The Following" will be released. We've seen trailers and details about the expansion from Techland, but the developer isn't quite ready to say when players will be able to get their hands on "The Following." The expansion is bigger than the original game, and it will include new weapons, missions and a dune buggy.
Those who purchased the game's season pass will get the expansion free, but it will also be available to download separately. With so much new content coming in the expansion, it's understandable why it's taking so long. Let's hope it's worth the wait. In the meantime, you check out some of the best Easter eggs players have found in the game so far.
