Meet The Artists Who Created The 'League Of Legends' Facebook Stickers

Meet Oskar, Sade and Nips, the artists behind the adorable and expressive League of Legends Facebook stickers that let fans show their true emotions, Legends-style, with just the right hero.

The artists were interviewed for the League of Legends blog, where they shared their inspirations for the sticker art as well as their own experiences with the PVP game by Riot Games.

The three artists began as fans of the game who would create their own fan art based on the characters. While they are all inspired by their own champs in the game to put their personal spin on the commissioned stickers for Riot Games, they hope that the end results put smiles on everyone's faces, whether they play League of Legends or not.

Oskar Vega is a professional artist who works on digital illustrations, pin-up art and comic art. He says that his style is very cartoony, bright and child-like, precisely because he wants people to laugh, giggle and smile with childhood nostalgia each time they look upon a piece of his artwork.

Oskar (raspbearyart) is on Twitter, DeviantArt and Tumblr.

Melissa, or Sade as she is known online on her artist social media pages, has won numerous art and fan art contests such as the Summoner's Choice for the League of Legends Art of Revelry Contest in 2012, as well as earning second place in the League of Legends Comic LoLz Contest in that same year. She was also a semi-finalist in the Gorillaz 'The Evangelist' art contest back in 2011. Of her work on the League stickers, she says her inspiration is drawn from playing the game constantly. For her, if she feels she isn't getting the essence of the character right, it's the perfect excuse to play even more.

Sade (ffSade) is on Twitter, Facebook and Twitch.

Nicole Echeverria, a.k.a. Nips, is a freelance artist who is currently working on a comic project entitled OFFcell. She says she tried to make the League champions as human and as believable as she could, while putting her own spin on them for her own fan art as well as for the sticker project.

"It's one of my favorite things to do!! To make it my own, I try to put the champion in situations that I feel only I would be best at drawing. Everyone has certain things they're good at and I think drawing while keeping that in mind results in the best and most unique pieces," she said.

Nips (ohnips/artbynips) is on Twitter, Facebook and daPortfolio.
