Family of Slain Tejano Star Selena to Release a New Song 20 Years After Her Death

Selena Quintanilla, known simply as Selena, was a Tejano singer who shot to fame in the mid-90s. She was shot by her own fan club president 20 years ago and her life was depicted in a bio-pic starring Jennifer Lopez.

Her stardom rose after her death and she was one of the first Spanish-language singers to make mainstream radio who did not fit the mold of big blonde hair. Although she was only able to release one English album before her death, she was still loved by many.

Her father, Abraham Quintanilla, who was also her manager, recently released a new song by his daughter which he said he uncovered a few weeks ago.

The song, entitled Oh No (I'll Never Fall in Love Again)" was sung by Selena when she did a radio interview for promotion. According to reports, the clip was found and first uploaded to YouTube and ever since then, fans have been clamoring for an official release. Abraham Quintanilla played the song on his production company's online radio station, Selena Q Radio, and Selena's fans are falling in love all over again with the star.

Quintanilla said that he was at first hesitant to release the clip because of the poor sound quality. Selena was unable to record it in a professional recording studio while she was still alive. However, her brother, A.B. Quintanilla was able to record his own arrangement of the song with the band, Kumbia Kings.”

Thankfully, Quintanilla finally gave in to fan requests and released the new Selena song online. And as many of her fans will attest, unprofessional sound quality or not, it certainly brings back their fond memories of the Tejano singer and has all the elements that made them fall in love with her to begin with.

Have a listen to the tune right here. The music begins at around 45 seconds into the clip.
