Good news for Google Play Music fans: a new Chromecast update is revealed.
The update was released on Thursday, Sept. 17. The v6.0.1995S of Google Play Music brings in several new changes to the app and, as the developer reveals, they have overhauled the Chromecast integration.
Thanks to the integration, beaming music from the app to Chromecast will now be smoother and sans interruptions.
For the unfamiliar, Google Play Music is a music app that comes pre-installed on Android devices that are Google Certified. Those with older Android handsets can install the app from Google Play Store manually.
The app works in tandem with both music purchased from the Play Store, as well as music files users upload to their handset. The All Access subscription scheme is a monthly paid service where a subscriber can get over a million songs available for downloading and streaming for just $10.
The All Access subscription scheme can be used by 10 different devices that are connected to a single account. However, a user can play back on a single device one at a time.
The changelog of the updated Google Play Music notes that the latest version of the app will now support gapless playback over Google Cast. Moreover, the music will still play even though the device shuts down.
The best part, however, is undoubtedly the fact that Android users will no longer be bothered by songs being stopped or paused thanks to the "no stoppage" feature. This will make for a more fluid and seamless listening experience.
The changes that the v6.0.1995S update brings to Google Play Music are not a major overhaul. However, these changes will be favorable to users as they manage the aspects associated with the app.
Those who want to check out the new update can download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store.
