Out of all the familiar faces returning to Star Wars Rebels for Season 2, fans seemed most excited about Captain Rex's debut in the animated series when the trailer for the next installment of the show dropped during the Star Wars Celebration in April. As they should be. Rex has been one of the more righteous clones, after all.
The fact that a clone is a fan favorite is kind of a big deal because it's not easy to like these guys. These soldiers are basically designed to follow whatever order they belong to without questioning their instructions. You can see how that could lead to them to do some pretty terrible things.
But love them or hate them, clones are coming back with a vengeance in Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, so hopefully, you like watching them on screen one way or another. If not, at least watch Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni and voice actor Dee Bradley Baker discuss why clones are complex characters that are essential to the Star Wars saga in this new behind-the-scenes featurette on Season 2 of the show.
In it, you'll learn why Filoni thinks the clones are way better than Stormtroopers, how Baker managed to give each clone his own unique personality and why we should see these highly skilled combatants as ultimately heroic. I know, I know. It's a lot to take in. So you should probably watch this clip sooner rather than later.
