After weeks of anticipation, the WWE Night of Champions (2015) pay per view is here, scheduled to take place live from Toyota Center in Houston, TX. on Sunday night (September 20).
With the card bolstered via Thursday Night Smackdown, the WWE Universe is in for a full slate of action with every title on the line. That being said, Tech Times took liberty of breaking down each match in the pay per view.
It's especially going to be a long night for Seth Rollins, who must defend both his United States and World Heavyweight championships against John Cena and Sting, respectively. Good luck with that, Seth!
Now, check out this preview.
Six Man Tag Match: Neville and The Lucha Dragons vs. The Cosmic Wasteland
Expect high-flying, risk-taking and heart-pulsing action when Neville teams with The Lucha Dragons to take on The Cosmic Wasteland, consisting of The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) and Stardust. If Tech Times had any say, this would be the match to kick off the pay per view with Neville getting the pinfall.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Ryback vs. Kevin Owens
The WWE has two of the biggest, baddest fighting machines in Ryback and Kevin Owens. Expect nothing short of pure violence and carnage when these two go at it Sunday night. The question is, as aggressive as Ryback is, will he be able to keep the I-C strap around his waist in surviving an imminent onslaught from KO?
Divas Championship: Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte
Let's call this a Divas championship with a twist. If title holder Nikki Bella is counted out or disqualified, then she loses her championship. That being said, Charlotte's chances to become new Divas champ might have just increased.
Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler
A grudge match from SummerSlam, Rusev and Dolph Ziggler can't seem to stop going at each other's necks...while also vying for attention from Lana. Fans will either see The Bulgarian Brute continue being an animal, not to mention maintain his hold over Lana, or The Showoff finding a way to defeat Rusev with the help of the manager. Expect the latter possibility at Night of Champions.
United States Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs. John Cena
Ever since dropping the United States Championship, John Cena has been yearning for his chance to take it back. Well, that opportunity is upon us Sunday night. From the pure standpoint of lessening Seth Rollins' workload, we like Cena's chances to take back his belt...but it won't be easy. As he gets more pay-per-view main events under his belt, Rollins continues to prove that he's arguably the most valuable and exciting performer the WWE has. This could very well wind up being the match of the night. When asked on WWE.com, 'Which championship is most likely to change hands at Night of Champions?', 23 percent of fans felt like it's the U.S. title. Don't think Jon Stewart will be helping Rollins against Cena this time.
Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz
While The Dudley Boyz returning and immediately setting their sights on The New Day has been as entertaining as any angle in the WWE right now, it's still early into The New Day's tag-team championship reign to swtich titles if you ask us. Tables will break, chairs will smash, but The New Day should manage to keep the belts.
Six Man Tag Match: The Wyatt Family vs. Dean Ambrose/Roman Reigns and TBA
There has been plenty of hints being thrown around about 'monsters' and when it comes to the WWE...there isn't more of a monster than Kane. We anticipate Kane to be the mystery guest in joining Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to wreak havoc on The Wyatt Family.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs. Sting
Nearly 40 percent of the WWE Universe feel like Seth Rollins will drop his World Heavyweight Championship to Sting on Sunday night. Well, Tech Times doesn't fall into that category. Even against the Vigilante and Icon that is Sting, The Architect should have something up his sleeve...and it very well could be something involving The Authority. Remember, Sting and The Authority aren't exactly on good terms. Could be wrong, but whatever the case, this match should more than live up to its main-event billing.
