This Secret Scene In 'Metal Gear Solid V' May Just Be Impossible To Get

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is filled with secrets and Easter eggs, but this hidden scene might just be the best and most difficult to obtain yet.

Spoilers below! If you don't want this hidden scene spoiled, turn back now.

Still here? Last warning.

Okay, here we go. The scene in question has supposedly been revealed by a player uncovering it in the game's files. The user uploaded the scene to YouTube, and what it shows is a scene that players may never actually get to see without cheating.

The scene shows Diamond Dogs founder Kazuhira Miller giving a moving speech on nuclear disarmament, saying that all nukes have been disarmed in the world and that Diamond Dogs will continue to fight and keep it that way. The scene continues with facts about nuclear proliferation and a quote from President Barack Obama on the spread of nuclear weapons to terrorists and for sale on the black market. The scene concludes by stating that as of 2015, there are still 16,000 nuclear warheads in the world. You can watch the full scene below.

As a series, Metal Gear Solid has long discussed the danger of nuclear proliferation, so this scene serves almost as a picture-perfect ending to what may very well be the last entry in the franchise.

Too bad that perfect ending will likely never come to pass. Why? Because it appears to require every player in the game to disarm their nukes.

First, a little context. Once players upgrade their Mother Base to a certain level and have the required resources, they can actually craft nuclear warheads. These grant the player a few advantages in the game's multiplayer component that allow players to raid one another's Forward Operating Bases. Only other players who have a nuke (or a high enough heroism score) can raid a nuke-holding player, and of course the nukes can be used on enemy bases as well.

But a nuke can also be disarmed, and if a player isn't willing to disarm it, another player could potentially steal the nuke from an enemy FOB and disarm it themselves.

In other words, the only way to unlock this scene is for every nuke-possessing player of Metal Gear Solid V to disarm their bombs. Or that is what players are assuming must be done, since nobody has done it yet. If we had to guess, the chances of players giving up a huge advantage over their fellow gamers is slim to none.

However, it may just be possible for a band of anti-nuke players to rid Metal Gear Solid V's world of nukes by force. It would no doubt be a long, hard battle — but in the end, the world would be a better place. The only catch is keeping it that way.
