Batman Will Have More Screen Time In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

There's a rumor going around that Batman will gain more footprint in the DC Extended Universe than Superman, but will that also happen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? The answer is yes.

Zack Snyder, director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, was asked point blank if Batman will have more screen time over Superman in the new movie. Snyder's answer was a yes, and that is because Batman is new to the universe.

Many might be wondering why give the Bruce Wayne/Batman more screen time when most folks by now should already know his origin story. Well, this Batman is quite different from the ones before, a more comic book portrayal of the character.

Here is what Snyder had to say:

"It's a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies, so we have a little bit more explaining to do-and you just had a whole Superman movie. But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And that's more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on."

It seems from what Snyder had to say, Bruce Wayne/Batman will have more screen time in the first half of the movie, then Superman and Wonder Woman will slowly make their presence felt throughout the second and third quarter.

We're not angry about this because Superman had a whole movie in the form of Man of Steel to get the audiences to know him. This new Batman won't get his solo outing for quite some time, so Snyder and Warner Bros. need to flesh him out as much as possible in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

No to mention, Batman is a far more interesting character than Superman, and a better character to help keep moviegoers interested. So it comes as no surprise to find out his screen time is higher.

The question is, will giving Batman more screen time hurt the movie, or excel it?
