DC Reveals The Top 10 'Batman: Arkham Knight' Easter Eggs

Rocksteady Studios is known for its love of all things DC Comics.

The Batman: Arkham game series is filled to the brim with references to many, many parts of DC mythology. Arkham Asylum included loads of hints about the location and villains to come in the second game. The dozens of Easter eggs in Arkham City included references to past Batman storylines like The Long Halloween, as well as the hometowns of Superman and Green Lantern. There was a sign referencing superheroine Black Canary, too.

Arkham Knight has more Easter eggs than the prior two games combined, which is no wonder since it's by far the biggest game in the series. In addition to an abundance of mentions of other DC superheroes, there are an enormous amount of references to even more of Batman's 75-year history than ever before.

In the video below, DC Entertainment picks its 10 favorite Easter eggs in Arkham Knight — that have been found so far, at least — in reverse order. Some of the players probably noticed already, but there might be a few that even the most hardcore gamer doesn't know about.

If you don't have time to watch the video, we've listed DC's picks below it.

Here's the complete list.

1. Man-Bat escapes GCPD lockup on the real-world date of October 31, aka Halloween.
2. Ace the Bat-Hound's dog bowl is in Bruce Wayne's office.
3. There's a hidden shrine in Gotham to Solomon Grundy, RIP.
4. Barbara Gordon's shattered spine can be clearly seen when viewing her in Detective Mode.
5. Bane's suit is stored in a crate at the shipyard.
6. A bench in Poison Ivy's botanical gardens is dedicated to Dr. Alec Holland (Swamp Thing).
7. A Shift Board at the GCPD lists cops Renee Montoya (The Question) and John Jones (Martian Manhunter).
8. There's a "Birds of Prey" group chat open on Barbara's computer screen with Huntress and Black Canary.
9. The silhouette of cosmic villain Starro can be seen in a fish tank in the Batgirl DLC.
10. References to Superman are everywhere, but DC's staff members single out a newspaper headline about a Smallville meteor shower as their favorite.
