A Kickstarter campaign has been started for a product called the HandyCase, which essentially is a case that makes a smartphone or tablet transparent and enables users to operate their device and see their fingers through the display of the device.
Users can change the level of transparency on the screen, allowing them to ensure that their hands are not obscuring their view of the apps they're using.
"As soon as users attach the case to their phone or tablet, they can interact with their device using all fingers from both hands, and can, in effect, "see through" the device," says HandScape, the company behind the HandyCase, on the Kickstarter page.
The case itself is lightweight and durable as well as low cost. It can be easily slipped onto a mobile device, enabling users to use all standard gestures such as swiping and touching, on the back of their device. Initially, it is compatible with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2.
The idea is that the case can reduce things like wrist strain. Instead of users having to continuously stretch their thumbs to use a device like an iPad, they can use their other fingers on the back of the device as a control method.
Of course, it also works as a standard phone case, protecting the device from things like scratches. The company says that it is also in development of an Android version of the device.
Those interested in the case can pledge $99 for the Kickstarter special for the iPhone 6 case, $109 for the iPhone 6 Plus case, $139 for the iPad Mini case or $149 for the iPad Air case. Pledges range all the way up to $7,340 for 50 iPad Air cases. Pledges can be made at the Kickstarter.
