Thought for a second that Chris Evans would walk away from the Captain America role after Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2? Think again. The actor says he is willing to extend his contract with Marvel Studios, and we see no reason why it wouldn't be approved.
The man has been a solid Captain America since his debut film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and went on to star in arguably the best movie in the universe, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
The actor stated in an interview with Collider that he used to think to himself on set where other films are concerned, on whether or not he's going to be in a terrible movie. However, with Marvel, these thoughts never seem to cross his mind, so that's one of the reasons why he's willing to keep going.
"Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me," he told Collider. "I've never had such a relationship where you have such -- I mean look at my resume, I'm used to being on set being like, 'Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?'
"Marvel just can't stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It's wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it's like a playground as an actor."
We're glad that Chris Evans want to stay on as Captain America for the foreseeable future because he fits the character really well. Still, we want him to take more risks and show up in more films outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Look at Hugh Jackman, that man has been playing Wolverine for the last 15-years, yet he has found the time to star in several hit movies outside of the X-Men universe. Some might say this is because Jackman is a better actor than Evans, which is true, but let's be honest here, that is not is the reason.
Superhero movies will not be popular forever despite popular opinion, so he needs to branch off and create another revenue stream that is not Captain America.
The actor not too long ago directed his first movie called, "Before We Go" but that didn't turn out well, so maybe that's why he's sticking to Marvel. We remember when he once stated that he's ready to ditch acting to become a director.
