Yesterday at Dragon Con, The CW debuted the first trailer for Season 4 of Arrow, and it sent fans into a frenzy.
The two-minute trailer picks up where Season 3 left off, showing Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak living in domestic bliss (probably in Coast City), secluded from their friends. In their place, John Diggle, Laurel Lance aka Black Canary and Thea Queen aka Speedy are holding down the fort in the newly-renamed Star City. Things are going fine until a new crew of bad guys, called the Ghosts, comes to town. They're better trained and armed than anything Team Arrow has faced before, forcing Laurel to track down Oliver and convince him to return.
Among other things, the trailer shows off Arrow in his cool new costume, Diggle sporting his first-ever superhero costume (though we still have no idea if he's being primed to become a known superhero from DC Comics) and the debut of new big bad Damien Darkh (played by Neal McDonough). Watch closely and you'll also spot actor Matt Ryan, reprising his role as John Constantine from NBC's canceled Constantine series. Team Arrow even gets a fancy, high-tech new headquarters.
Despite showrunner Marc Guggenheim's assertion that Season 4 will have a lighter tone compared with Season 3, this is one action-packed trailer forecasting heavy dramatic developments for the entire cast. It's every bit as fast-paced and exciting as fans are hoping for, and plays like a trailer for a movie on the silver screen.
Arrow returns Wednesday, October 7, 2015 on The CW.
