LG Nexus 5X/(2015) Pricing And Release Date Confirmed, New Render Shows Final Design

Google is expected to launch two Nexus smartphones on Sept. 29 to kick off the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Image of the reportedly final design of one of those devices, the LG Nexus 5X/(2015) have leaked.

In a few days, Sept. 9 to be exact, Apple is going to take the wraps off of its latest and greatest iPhones. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are going to mirror the overall design of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus but include some under the hood upgrades and new Force Touch displays in order to tempt smartphone fans to upgrade. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will also be the first devices to ship with iOS 9 out of the box.

iOS 9 is expected to be released to previous generation iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches shortly after Apple's Sept. 9 event. Android fans are also expected to receive an updated version of the mobile OS when Google unveils its latest Nexus smartphones and Android 6.0 Marshmallow at a press event reportedly scheduled for Sept. 29.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow has already been released as a developer preview for current Nexus smartphones and tablets, like the Nexus 6, and Samsung just confirmed Android 6.0 Marshmallow would be released as an update for the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 4 and other devices by early 2016.

Google is planning to use its upcoming LG-built Nexus 5X/(2015) and Huawei Nexus phablet to be the launch vehicles for its next-generation OS and newly leaked image claim to show the final design for one of those devices.

AndroidPit received the image above from a trusted source, which claims to be the final design of the LG Nexus 5X/(2015). The image matches previously leaked renders of the device and only shows the rear case of the smartphone. The Nexus logo is just below the Touch ID-like fingerprint scanner and rumored 13-megapixel rear camera and dual-LED flash.

The Nexus 5X/(2015) is also rumored to include a 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 2,700mAh battery, and USB Type-C. The unlocked smartphone will reportedly cost $399 and go on sale via the Google Play Store on Sept. 29, alongside the 5.5-inch Huawei Nexus phablet.
