'Preacher': First Shot Of Arseface And Cassidy

Preacher is currently in development as a series exclusive to AMC. The show is based on the DC comic of the same name. We got to see new set pictures, and a few important characters popped up.

The photos show Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy and a proper look at Ian Colletti as Eugene Root/Arseface.

Now, since Preacher is not as popular as other comics under the DC banner, many folks might not know who these characters are. Worry not because we have the lowdown for you.

Who Is Arseface?

Arseface, also known as Eugene Root, is just a regular teenager with a lot of problems. He has a friend who goes by the name "Pube" and both of them suffer issues at home. Both teenagers are also fans of Nirvana and its front man Kurt Cobain because they believe only he could understand their crappy lives. After Cobain took his own life, both boys choose to do the same.

It is Pube's idea to take the Sheriff's shotgun. The Sheriff also happens to be the father of Root. They get drunk and go ahead and get the job done. Pube blows his own brain out while Root only manages to blow off his own face, which is why he is called Arseface.

When his father visits him in the hospital, he looks at him and says, "Shoulda put it in your mouth, you dumb little fuck."

Arseface eventually goes on to find love, but not everything lasts forever.

Who Is Cassidy?

Cassidy's real name is Proinsias Cassidy, and he's an Irish Vampire. He leaves Ireland to start a new life in America, but he is caught up in the madness and is forced to fight. We do know a lot about the character, but revealing the information is too much of a spoiler.

Preacher will premiere in late 2015 or early 2016.
