Customers that are looking forward to owning Samsung's latest devices, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+, can now pre-order for the smartphones either through major carriers in the United States or through retail giant Best Buy.
The respective pre-order pages for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ for the country's top carriers and Best Buy are now online, allowing users to fall in line to acquire either of the two devices upon their planned launch on Aug. 21.
AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon subscribers can access the respective pages of the carriers to look at the offers of the companies for the Galaxy Note 5. AT&T and Verizon have separate pages for pre-orders of the Galaxy S6 Edge+.
However, customers that choose to purchase any of the two new Samsung devices through Best Buy will be treated with a free wireless charger to go along with their smartphone, along with a Best Buy gift card worth $200 when a working smartphone is traded in to acquire the device.
The Best Buy offer mirrors a planned Sprint promotion that will give customers savings of up to $200 in acquiring either the Galaxy Note 5 or Galaxy S6 Edge+ if a working smartphone is traded in.
Additionally, customers who choose to take advantage of Sprint's trade-in offer will be receiving another Samsung device, specifically the Galaxy Tab 4, at no additional cost. This portion of the trade-in offer has been extended to pre-ordering users, who will be receiving the free tablet when a pre-order is sent in for any of the two smartphones with a two-year contract.
A hands-on experience with the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ show that the two devices have a lot of common features, including 5.7-inch quad HD displays and octa-core Exynos 7420 processors with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
The major differences between the two devices begin with the curved screen of the Galaxy S6 Edge+, which adds additional viewing angles and curved screen-specific features such as Apps for Edge that take advantage of the extra screen space.
The Galaxy Note 5, on the other hand, features a convex backing that allows the device to conform well to the hands of users.
The two devices continue the metal frame construction started by the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagship devices, ending the cheap-feeling plastic construction of Samsung's premium smartphones.
