CBS' 'Supergirl' Casts Brit Morgan As Supervillain Livewire

Looks like CBS' Supergirl (Melissa Benoitt, Glee) is making another enemy: actress Brit Morgan has been cast for a guest star stint on the new CBS series as Livewire, one of Kara-Zor-El's main rivals.

Morgan has previously appeared on HBO's vampish southern Gothic series True Blood as Debbie, a werewolf who is territorial of her pack. Other credits include TV shows Graceland, Criminal Minds, and Desperate Housewives, as well as the 2012 movie Freeloaders.

Supergirl's nemesis is imbued with electro-shock abilities. Formerly a shock jock DJ under her real name, Leslie Willis, Livewire decides upon a life of crime after losing her job.

Livewire was introduced into the DC Multiverse by creator Bruce Timm; she first appeared in the television show Superman: The Animated Series in an episode titled "Livewire." In 2006, DC writer Gail Simone inaugurated her into the DC main universe in Action Comics issue #835.

Morgan joins the ranks of Chris Browning and Peter Facinelli, who have been cast as Supergirl antagonists Reactron and Maxwell Lord, respectively.

Supergirl will make its CBS premiere on October 26, 8:30 p.m. EST.
