Dragon Age: Inquisition players will finally get some new story content with the release of The Descent, a single player DLC expansion that will take players, as the name implies, deep into the underground of Theda to solve a mystery that has been plaguing the land with unnatural earthquakes.
The expansion went live on Aug. 11 and Bioware promises it will be a challenging ride with Darkspawn filling up the depths of the dungeon and with other memorable characters to meet.
The Descent will take place in Theda's Deep Roads, an ancient system of underground tunnels and abandoned cities built by dwarves long before the events of the first Dragon Age game.
Over the ages, Darkspawn (the game's equivalent of Orcs) started to overrun the Deep Roads, making them a perilous place for anyone to venture into.
In order to play The Descent, players will need to have the latest patch of the game installed. Patch 9, according to reports, clears up many bugs the game has been having and will include a new character for Multiplayer mode: Pala the Silent Sister, who comes from an order of female Dwarves, is highly skilled in the art of unarmed combat.
"Pala is a zealous dwarven warrior with an unwavering dedication to the art of war. [She] willingly chose exile to join the Inquisition in its perpetual struggle against the enemies of Thedas," Bioware describes the new character.
As previously announced by Bioware, The Descent DLC will not be made available for last-generation consoles. However, players on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can enjoy this much awaited expansion to this popular and favorite game.
