New 'Dragon Age: Inquisition' DLC Takes You Down Into The Deep Roads

Fans of BioWare's Dragon Age: Inquisition are finally going to get their second piece of DLC next week, when the company launches "The Descent," a new mission that takes the Inquisitor and company down into the depths of the Deep Roads.

In the world of Dragon Age, Dwarves once inhabited the passages that lie beneath the lands of Thedas, but hordes of Darkspawn drove them out a long time ago. The Deep Roads are now decrepit. abandoned and full of Darkspawn, so much so that Grey Wardens go to the Deep Roads to die in a blaze of glory fighting the beasts they spent much of their life protecting others from.

In "The Descent" the Inquisitor travels to the Deep Roads to find out what's behind the mysterious earthquakes that currently rock Thedas, threatening its land and people. This obviously means challenges in traversing the Deep Roads' treacherous landscape while fighting the Darkspawn that live there.

"Explore the legendary Deep Roads, but ensure that you come prepared," writes BioWare on the Dragon Age: Inquisition website. "A perilous journey awaits underground, where vast, darkspawn-infested caverns will challenge the Inquisition like never before."

There's also good news for those players interested in 'The Descent" who haven't yet made it to the end of the full version of the game: "The Descent" is playable as soon as you reach Skyhold. The new DLC is also playable by characters at any level past that point.

"Meet memorable new characters, learn more about dwarven history, and collect epic loot as you fight to solve one of Thedas's greatest mysteries," writes BioWare on their website. "Hidden danger lurks within the Stone, Inquisitor. Good luck!"

There also isn't any timed exclusivity on "The Descent" either, as there was with the previous Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC. "The Descent" arrives August 11 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

As a side note, the full game of Dragon Age: Inquisition is now available in the EA Access vault, EA's subscription service that lets you play games from its line-up on the Xbox One for $4.99 per month.
