Video game developer CD Projekt Red has released Patch 1.08 for the highly acclaimed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with the patch now downloadable across all platforms.
According to a post on the developer's official forums, the update introduces several fixes to quests along with improvements in the game's gameplay mechanics.
The changes that the patch will bring to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are divided into performance, user interface, gameplay, achievements, graphics, quest, and general changes.
Under performance, the patch makes overall improvements, including certain issues that could have been due to Patch 1.07.
Under user interface, the patch addresses an issue wherein a portion of the map of Kaer Morhen does not properly display.
For gameplay, the patch address certain issues such as the rare problem of disappearing stash items and adds an option for players to perform a roll before they land to greatly reduce the damage that they would take from a fall.
One of the more anticipated inclusions of Patch 1.08 is the Wolven Hour potion. The potion will be added to the inventory of all players once the patch is installed. Once used, the level requirements for all gear will be reduced for one hour. This is an important fix because, with Patch 1.07, the level requirements for some items were increased, leaving some gamers stuck only with gear that they could not use.
By reducing the level requirements for an hour, affected players will be given time to level up or look for other gear that they could use. After the potion's effects wear off, the level requirements for all gear will go back to their post-Patch 1.07 levels.
For achievements, the patch will now allow players to complete the Card Collector achievement.
Under graphics, the patch corrects an issue where interiors could not display correctly in the gamer's minimap and visual glitches in Novigrad.
The quest improvements take up the most part of the changelog for Patch 1.08, fixing several problems with quests not being able to be completed by gamers due to various reasons such as important events not triggering, blocked passages and unobtainable items.
Patch 1.08 also prepares the game for the future introduction of a New Game+ feature, where money, armor, weapons and recipes carry over but enemies become much stronger.
The patch is now available for download on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
