CD Projekt Red isn't giving up when it comes to making The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt the best it can be. A massive free update two weeks ago added a number of improvements to an already excellent game — bettering inventory management, character control and more.
There was, however, one unfortunate side effect. The framerate on both of the game's console versions seemed to suffer after Patch 1.07 — a blemish on what was otherwise a much celebrated game update. Not to worry, though. CD Projekt Red is back with yet another patch in the form of 1.08. This latest patch aims to fix those performance issues.
But the patch isn't only correcting the framerate woes. It is also adding a new potion to the game called the Wolven Hour. This potion reduces the level requirement on all gear in the game for one hour. The potion will be placed in every player's inventory once the patch goes live.
It may seem like a strange inclusion, but the new potion is being added as a result of Patch 1.07. That update raised the level requirement for many pieces of gear, leaving some players without usable equipment. This new potion will let those players use their items for a while longer while they hunt for new gear in the meantime.
A new gameplay feature is also coming in the update that lets players prevent some of the damage from high falls by pressing the roll button just before landing. And of course, the patch will address a number of bugs and glitches.
The new patch will also introduce some "preparatory features" to the recently detailed New Game Plus mode that will be added to the game at a later date. You can read more about that here. Patch 1.08 will be arriving "quite soon," according to the developer.
