Former WWE Superstar Edge To Play Villain On 'The Flash'

When you're 6-foot-5 and over 240 pounds with charisma oozing out of your pores, and you've already had some spotlight... chances are you're going to get some acting work.

That's the position that former WWE Superstar Edge – real name Adam Copeland – finds himself in after being forced to end his pro wrestling career over a severe neck injury at the age of 37 in 2011.

Well, according to a Comicbookmovie.com report and a leaked image that popped up on Instagram, Copeland, now 41, will play a metal-headed villain during the second season of The Flash, coming to the CW Network in October. Cool gig for the former WWE wrestler nicknamed The Rated R Superstar, who was easily one of the best villains whom fans loved to hate... or just flat-out loved.

While we don't know the name of the villain Copeland will portray yet, a captured snapshot leads many to believe he's crashing Central City's "Flash Day" parade. Some have thrown around the name Tar Pit as a possible character who Copeland might play. Whatever it is, we – and surely many fans from the WWE Universe – can't wait to see what Copeland brings to the role.

Since having to retire from the WWE four years ago, it's been a crapshoot for Copeland — who has taken on a few small acting parts, including his recurring role as Dwight Hendrickson on Syfy's Haven television series.

Watch for him in season two of The Flash, beginning on October 6.
