John Stamos Now In Rehab For Substance Abuse Treatment

Full House star John Stamos has just checked into a residential treatment program at a rehab facility.

Last month, Tech Times reported that the actor was apprehended by the police who later on cited the actor for DUI. That time, Stamos was reportedly driving alone and was then asked to pull over. He was later on brought to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was placed under observation for a suspected medical condition.

Stamos, after being confirmed by the hospital for driving under the influence, was consequently arrested but was released later on and placed under the care of hospital staff.

The actor turned to Twitter to thank his fans for all the support and also to thank the hospital staff.

"Thanks to everyone for their love & support," tweeted Stamos the next day. "I'm home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care."

Stamos was originally invited to co-host the announcements for the 2015 Emmy Award nominations with Uzo Aduba (Orange Is The New Black) on July 16. He is now being replaced by Cat Deeley.

Prior to the DUI incident, Stamos made headlines back in 2007 after attending a morning show in Australia in a slurry disposition. The actor attributed the embarrassing moment to a wrong combination of jet lag and sleeping pills.

"By the time I got to Australia, my body was so out of whack," said Stamos. He added that he "took a sleeping pill at five in the morning, Ambien. I did not know what continent I was on. I was not drinking. I did not drink either morning. I do not have an alcohol problem. This is not a problem."

Stamos, who played the role of Uncle Jesse in the sitcom Full House, will reprise the role at the show's 13-episode reboot. The new series, aptly titled Fuller House, will launch on Netflix in 2016. Other Full House co-stars who are joining the reboot include Bob Saget, Candace Cameron Bure, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin and Andrea Barber.

Stamos will also star in a new Fox sitcom called Grandfathered which is scheduled to premiere in the fall. Some members of the cast include Chasty Ballesteros, Paget Brewster, Michael S. Brown, Kristian Favors, Kelly Jenrette, Jose Lizarde Jr, and many more.

In Grandfathered, Stamos will play the role of Jimmy, a longtime bachelor who finds out that he's not just a father, he is also a grandfather.

Stamos will also star in the sequel to the highly successful My Big Fat Greek Wedding and was seen in Toronto, Canada a few days after the DUI incident for the filming.

He was grateful to have passed through customs and tweeted, "Thank you Canadian immigration - you were super cool. HELLO TORONTO."
