We're only five months away from the release of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens in theaters. However, if that still seems like an eternity from now, there's a whole batch of new stories hitting bookshelves this fall to keep you busy before the latest installment of the Star Wars movie franchise arrives.
More than 20 new titles will be released this fall in print and digital formats, StarWars.com announced Wednesday. These include new novels, comic books, illustrated reference, Look and Find and sticker books.
The official Star Wars website gave fans a sneak peek at some of the new titles and their cover art dropping this fall. Here's what some of the new Star Wars books will have in store:
Star Wars: Aftermath by Chuck Wendig: Rebel fighter Norra Wexley attempts to save pilot Wedge Antilles after he is taken captive at the remote planet Akiva. This will all build up to an epic battle as Norra and her newfound band of allies fight to finally end the Empire's rule.
Star Wars: Lost Stars by Claudia Gray: This YA novel is a wrong-side-of-the-tracks love story featuring well-to-do Thane Kyrell and villager Ciena Ree whose positions on the opposite sides of war threaten to tear them a part.
Star Wars: The Weapon of a Jedi — A Luke Skywalker Adventure by Jason Fry: Luke stumbles upon a mysterious planet and has to use the Force to save a young girl while also staving off a new foe in this new adventure set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.
Star Wars: Moving Target — A Princess Leia Adventure by Jason Fry: Princess Leia leads a group of rebels to take on a dangerous decoy mission against the Galactic Empire in this new adventure set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars: Smuggler’s Run — A Han Solo & Chewbacca Adventure by Greg Rucka: Han Solo and Chewbacca are back together once again to take the Millennium Falcon for a spin for a mission for the Rebellion, which will entail keeping clear of bounty hunters and an Imperial agent in this new adventure set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.
Star Wars: Shattered Empire written by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Marco Checchetto: This five-issue comic book series from Marvel will chronicle the events following the collapse of the Empire.
Star Wars: Ships of the Galaxy: This children's book details many of the iconic starships featured in the Star Wars saga with facts, trivia and images. It also includes a special foldout of blueprints of ships from The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: Droid Factory: This children's book tells readers everything they ever wanted to know about droids with images, data and even instructions on how to construct their own models of C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8.
Star Wars: Look and Find: This is a new Look and Find book featuring scenes from the Star Wars saga, including The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know by Cole Horton: This book answers all of your burning questions about the Star Wars saga, such as who cleans the floors of the Death Star and why Nightsisters take the Test of Fury. It also includes answers to questions you may have about The Force Awakens.
