After the shocking death of Jon Snow, will you risk your life to make a play for the Iron Throne and rule over the Seven Kingdoms?
Your dreams of venturing through the lands of Westeros and King's Landing have been heard by the powers that be and the Game of Thrones Special Edition Risk board game will soon hit the shelves.
The board game created by USAopoly in partnership with HBO and under license from Hasbro will soon allow fans to play for their favored House in Westeros and strategize how to take over the Iron Throne and rule over all the kingdoms, according to a new report by The Wall Street Journal.
Each Game of Thrones Special Edition Risk board game contains 650 pieces and includes two beautifully detailed game boards, seven player boards, 28 character cards, seven armies each with 45 pieces, nine dice, a rule book and a box for organizing all these pieces.
The board game offers players three different ways to play, with each mode focusing on different houses. The War of Five Kings is set in Westeros for three to five players and features the Houses of Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Martell and Tyrell. Meanwhile, over in Essos, two can players can battle it out to see who gets to rule the Ghiscari slaves. And, of course, players can combine both maps and have all seven Houses battle it out with each other for the Iron Throne.
The board game sounds exciting enough, but to add further drama to the mix, Objective and Maester cards serve as tie-ins to modify strategy and give players additional goals. Special Character cards have also been added to allow players to use the distinct skills of four of the major characters in each House.
The Game of Thrones Special Edition Risk board game will become available for sale in August for $75.
