Can you feel the excitement? San Diego Comic-Con is nearly here.
Every year, Hollywood, comic book publishers, video game developers and more join together for the most massive event in all of geekdom. For 2015, several major players are sitting out (Paramount, Sony, Marvel: we're looking at you), but that doesn't mean there's cause to worry.
The Con's still got Star Wars, The Hunger Games, Batman v. Superman, Warcraft, X-Men, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and many more lined up for your enjoyment. So fret not, Comic-Con fans. Here's a quick schedule of everything attendees can't miss — and what everyone else should be watching for news about from home.
Wednesday (Preview Night)
Supergirl
When: 6:00 - 10:00 P.M.
Where: Ballroom 20
Presented By: Warner Bros. Television
Every year at Comic-Con, WBTV puts on a special screening event for fans who have Preview Night passes but want to skip the convention hall. This year's event is headlined by the world premiere of Supergirl's pilot episode, followed by the pilots from new series Blindspot, Containment, Lucifer and Teen Titans Go. (But we imagine a lot of people will leave after Supergirl.)
Thursday
Mockingjay, Part 2
When: 12:00 - 1:15 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: Lionsgate
The first big Hall H panel of the year is one of the most anticipated, hyping up the finale to The Hunger Games film series. Expect new footage to be shown, and we'll eat our hats if Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth don't show up.
Doctor Who
When: 2:15 - 3:15 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: BBC America
Star Peter Capaldi makes his Comic-Con debut alongside Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald), Michelle Gomez (Missy) and showrunner Steven Moffat. Filming began on Season 9 way back in January, so chances are very good that a trailer will be shown.
Sherlock
When: 3:45 - 4:45 P.M.
Where: Ballroom 20
Presented By: BBC
The big topic of conversation will be the upcoming Christmas Special that finds the cast in a meta/fantasy scenario where they're filling their roles back in the 1800s as Arthur Conan Doyle wrote them. Neither Benedict Cumberbatch nor Martin Freeman are scheduled to appear, but you never know. We just hope Steven Moffat has his running shoes on to make it from Hall H (see Doctor Who above) to Ballroom 20 in just half an hour. The two rooms are on opposite ends of the convention center!
Friday
The Walking Dead
When: 12:00 - 1:00 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: AMC
It's hard to believe this AMC hit is heading into its sixth season. This panel, which is scheduled to include every major star from the show along with much of the production crew and moderated by Chris Hardwick, will include a sneak peek at Season 6. But strangely, no Robert Kirkman. When the panel ends, stay put for...
Fear the Walking Dead
When: 1:00 - 2:00 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: AMC
The entire cast and producers of this spinoff series will answer questions and show off a trailer for the show.
Game of Thrones
When: 2:30 - 3:30 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: HBO
Will attendees get a glimpse at Season 6? We don't know, but we can tell you which stars will be on hand: Alfie Allen, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Natalie Dormer, Conleth Hill, Hannah Murray, Sophie Turner, Carice van Houten and Maisie Williams. Director David Nutter and producer Carolyn Strauss will join them.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D./Agent Carter
When: 3:00 - 4:15 P.M.
Where: Ballroom 20
Presented By: ABC
It's odd that Netflix and Marvel aren't bringing anything from their successful small-screen collaboration to Comic-Con (not to mention Marvel Studios' complete absence), but we suppose this is the next best thing. The casts of both ABC shows will be on hand to talk up the new seasons and show some preview footage. As always, Jeph Loeb will moderate.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
When: 5:30 - 6:30 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: Lucasfilm
This is it. This is the one people will wait in line overnight outside the Convention Center (and sit through a day of panels in Hall H) for. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel is guaranteed to be the hottest ticket at Comic-Con, and you already know why. J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and Lawrence Kasdan will present new footage from the film, along with "special guests." Which we hope is code for "Harrison Ford."
Orphan Black
When: 5:45 - 6:45 P.M.
Where: Room 6BCF
Presented By: BBC America
A consolation prize for those who can't get into the Star Wars panel (which will likely number in the thousands), the cast and crew of Orphan Black are always charming and entertaining. One thing to note: Season 4 hasn't begun filming yet, so don't get your hopes up for any new footage.
Ash vs. Evil Dead
When: 6:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Where: Room 6A
Presented By: Starz
Ash is back! And in a weekly TV series! Who'dathunk, right? Stars Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless will be joined by Sam Raimi and other members of the production crew. And yes, there will be footage. (We don't know that for certain, but come on.)
Saturday
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice
When: 10:30 A.M. - 12:00 Noon
Where: Hall H
Presented By: Warner Bros.
Technically this is billed as the "Warner Bros. Panel," but we all know what people will be there to see. The entire main cast from Batman v. Superman will be there, including Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot, along with director Zack Snyder. They'd better bring a new trailer or clips, or there will be a riot in Hall H.
Warner Bros.' Pan and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. will also be part of the event.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
When: 12:15 - 1:15 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: Screen Gems
This movie will either be awesome or a disaster. But it should be a kick to watch Lily James go from Cinderella princess to refined, proper zombie hunter Elizabeth Bennet. James will be on hand with other stars (including Doctor Who alum Matt Smith) and the writer and director. The first trailer is expected.
Also presented will be Screen Gems' thriller The Infected, which also stars Matt Smith, and Game of Thrones' favorite Natalie Dormer.
Warcraft
When: 2:30 - 3:30 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: Legendary Pictures
Legendary always packs a ton into its hour-long panel, and this year will be no different. But the marquee film is undoubtedly Warcraft, which we hope to finally see a proper trailer for. Also in Legendary's plans: Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak, the intriguing Great Wall, comedy/horror Krampus, "and more." We're hoping to see a little glimpse of something from del Toro's Pacific Rim universe (second movie, animated TV series, we'll take anything) and maybe some talk about Skull Island. You never know, they might even announce a Jurassic World sequel.
20th Century Fox
When: 5:45 - 7:30 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: Fox
Fox is keeping its presentation under wraps, but considering its super-sized length, we're expecting to see plenty. The studio has no shortage of movies to show off, but we expect the biggie to be X-Men: Apocalypse. Other flicks Fox could highlight: Fantastic Four, Deadpool, Hitman, The Scorch Trials, The Martian, Bridge of Spies, The Peanuts Movie, Assassin's Creed, Independence Day: Resurgence and more. Smart money's on Deadpool and Independence Day, for sure.
Sunday
American Horror Story: Hotel / Scream Queens
When: 12:30 - 1:30 P.M.
Where: Hall H
Presented By: FX/Fox
The Ryan Murphy hour-of-horror will present stars and footage from both shows. It's noteworthy because there are going to be some big-time stars on the Comic-Con stage, including the likes of Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett. Should be entertaining to watch them riff off each other and the audience.
