Those who love binge-watching Orange Is the New Black, BoJack Horseman, House of Cards, Daredevil and all your other Netflix favorites in the U.K. will now have an additional payment option to pay for the popular streaming service.
Netflix just rolled out its new pay-as-you-go option called Netflix Card that allows customers to watch content without having to sign up for a monthly membership.
After the free trail ends, those in the U.K. can use the prepaid Netflix Card that works similarly to gift cards. The card has a unique code on the back that is entered on the website. The pay-as-you-go card comes in values of 15, 25, and 50 pounds credit ($23, $39 and $78 USD, respectively), and will be sold at a number of U.K. retailers, with more major U.K. retailers and supermarkets expected to sell them in the near future.
Customers will receive service as long as the card balance lasts. When the credit is fully used, the member can chose to put more credit on the account with a Netflix Card, or chose one of the other paymend methods. Pre-existing subscribers can switch over to the pay-as-you-go option at any time.
The cards can be applied to SD, HD, and 4K streaming tiers.
Netflix Cards have previously been introduced in the U.S. market. However, up until now, customers in the U.K. could only pay for the streaming service via credit or debit cards and PayPal.
