We can't wait for the release of Dragon Ball Super, the first new animated TV series from the franchise in 18 years. And now, we're learning new storyline details about the series and its first episode.
Dragon Ball Super will pick up a few years after the defeat of Majin Buu. Life is peaceful in the first episode, and the storyline features Goku working after being ordered by Chi-chi to make some money. Still, he yearns to train even more than before.
We've also learned that Goten – who is about to become Videl's brother-in-law – is setting out on a quest with Trunks to find her a present in the first episode.
The new series will include plot elements and the characters Beerus and Whis from the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F.'
Dragon Ball Super's official website revealed promo art for the animated series on Monday, June 15, which includes Beerus and Whis, along with two other unnamed characters. The website also confirmed the returning cast, along with their character designs, created by Akira Toriyama.
Jōji Yanami will return for the narration and Kimitoshi Chioka will be directing the series, with Naoko Sagawa, Atsushi Kido and Osamu Nozaki on board as producers.
