Cleveland hasn't had a major sports champion in 51 years ... and WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins wanted to drive that point home at Quicken Loans Arena on Monday Night Raw.
Rollins didn't waste time mocking Cleveland's championship drought. He went on to take shots at Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, who was seated ringside, as well as Cavaliers star LeBron James.
"Take a good look, Cleveland," said Rollins, holding up his gold belt to rub it in the faces of the crowd. "Take a good look, because this is what a world championship looks like. Hell, Johnny Idiot Face over there is never going to bring you a title. LeBron James ain't bringing a title back to Cleveland!
"This [belt] is the only championship you should be celebrating," he roared. "So soak it up, because I am leaving this piece of crap town, and I am taking this title with me!"
Way to rile up a Cleveland crowd, Seth — and just one night before King James and the Cavs face the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals and try to force a Game 7.
But Johnny Football and King James weren't the only Cleveland reps to get abused Monday night. NXT champion Kevin Owens attacked Cleveland native and special Raw guest host, rapper Machine Gun Kelly — brutally power-bombing him off the stage.
Cleveland fans would be redeemed later in the night, though. Rollins found out that his next opponent would be none other than Brock Lesnar, who made his return to Raw. Rollins might have dragged the city of Cleveland through the mud, but now he's going to have to deal with an entirely different kind of city ... Brock's Suplex City. Godspeed, Seth!
