You Can't Miss The OnePlus 2 Engineer Test Unit On OnePlus' Photo Mania Teaser

The OnePlus 2 stars in an official new teaser and the company is running a "Photo Mania" contest with attractive prices.

More specifically, OnePlus wants to invite one lucky winner to its headquarters in Hong Kong (all expenses paid), where the fan will have a "pivotal role" in a secret project the company has planned for its next-generation OnePlus 2 flagship.

"OnePlus has always been about the collaboration between us and our fans, and we want you guys to be an integral part of our next gigantic step," touts the company.

As for the contest itself, interested fans can enter the competition by submitting a photo they took with their smartphone, without editing or filtering the image in any way. Participants must submit the photo to the company's Instagram account and tag @oneplustech. In the caption, participants should include details regarding the settings the used for the photo, including the lighting.

The company will choose the Top 10 photos based on popularity, i.e. likes on Instagram, as well as "technical ability." Selecting the final winner will ultimately be up to the public, according to OnePlus.

Lastly, it's worth pointing out that all participants must have a public Instagram account in order to take part of this competition, and the submission deadline is June 15.

In promoting this contest and creating hype for its upcoming flagship, the company also posted a teaser image for a OnePlus 2 test unit (pictured above). The teaser doesn't give away much details in terms of design, as the phone is in landscape mode and you only see the display mostly. At the same time, test units don't necessarily show the final design of a device, so it remains to be seen what the OnePlus 2 will actually look like.

The company did not reveal just when it plans to launch its new OnePlus 2, but the handset is expected to make its official debut sometime in the third quarter. The OnePlus 2 will launch on an invite-only system just like its predecessor, meaning that interested customers will need an invitation to be able to purchase the smartphone. The number of invites was extremely limited in 2014 with the OnePlus One, but the company should send out more invitations this year with the 2015 OnePlus 2 flagship.
