Get ready to be sitting on the edge of your seats, because HBO released two new trailers on Sunday for its original series True Detective.
The two trailers bring on the intensity, giving us a taste of the things to come, as well as giving us a look at the new characters played by Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch.
The first 30-second suspenseful teaser called "Chaos" features powerful lines from the actors, showcasing some scenes that bring on the action.
"Just one question," Colin Farrell says. "Am I supposed to solve this or not?"
The second teaser trailer called "Stand" features no dialogue, but is just as intense. We see the characters in a few confrontations as the scenes build up, and the violence increases.
We know that Season 2's storyline surrounds a transportation deal in California, and the murder of a corrupt city manager. There are also hints that the season will also follow an investigation of a missing girl.
While Season 1 was a hit, this season there will be four main characters, opposed to the characters played by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
Farrell plays Ray Velcro, a California Highway Patrol officer who has alliances with both the police department and the mob. Vaughn plays Frank Semyon, True Detective's criminal this season, whose business partner was murdered. McAdams plays the main female lead, Sheriff Ani Bezzirades, an interesting change from her most-known roles in movies like Mean Girls and The Notebook. Finally, Kitsch plays Paul Woodrush, a veteran and officer.
From what we can see in the teaser trailers, when these characters cross paths, there is not short of face-offs, violence, or explosions.
Watch the two True Detective teaser trailers below, and tune into Season 2 on June 21 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
