There's a lot to look forward to this June. Between the craziness of prom, graduation, weddings and the official start of summer later in the month — sometimes all we want to do is get the popcorn ready for a relaxing time with a good movie or an episode of our favorite original series. And we can never go wrong tuning into HBO or HBO GO.
May brought us Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but even more blockbusters will premiere in June. We can't wait to watch the HBO premiere of the thriller Gone Girl (2014) starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris, about the disappearance of a woman that raises a media circus around her seemingly guilty husband.
And while the fifth season of Game of Thrones is wrapping up, HBO original series True Detective is coming back for its second season. And even though Matthew McConaughey won't be returning this time around, fans of the show will be pleased to see Colin Farrell play Ray Velcoro, a highway patrol officer, Vince Vaughn as criminal Frank Semyon, and Rachel McAdams in the female lead as Sheriff Ani Bezzerides.
Two new HBO original series will also premiere this month. The first is Ballers, starring Dwayne Johnson in a dramedy about a group of football players and the people in their lives. The second is The Brink, a political comedy starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins in the story of a crisis that has the world on the brink of World War III.
Whether you prefer to watch live or to see it later — the premium cable network has you covered.
Here is what’s new and returning on HBO and HBO Go in June 2015.
