Kung Fury is finally available on YouTube and after watching every second of the 30-minutes movie, we have to say that it is pure awesomeness. The 80s vibe along with all the impossible and supernatural aspects make this film a must see.
The movie is all about a cop who goes by the name, Kung Fury. He is considered as the chosen one and the most bad-ass police officer in the world due to his particularly effective set of Kung-Fu skills. He's like a super cop, and he gained his abilities from being struck by lightning, and bitten by a deadly cobra.
As one should be able to tell by now, Kung Fury doesn't take itself seriously, and that is the reason why it is so great. A movie that has time travel, Vikings, Thor, Laser Raptors among other things, should never be taken seriously no matter what.
The acting here is in many cases, worse than that of a bad B-movie, but the style of the directing and what this film represents will make folks forget about all its shortcomings in no time.
We should point out that Adolf Hitler is in this movie, but he's no normal Hitler, he's Adolf Furher. As expected, he wants to take over the world. For some reason, he believes he is the greatest martial artist in the world, bested only by the chosen one, Kung Fury.
I can't say Kung Fury is good enough to make it to theaters. It's terrible compared to Hollywood big budget movies, but for what it is, a Kickstarter project made real, it is awesome. Not to mention, David Hasselhoff is in it as a talking car with style, so there's something to look forward to if everything else fails to ignite the excitement levels.
The ending bodes well for a sequel, so we are wondering if the creators are planning to launch another Kickstarter campaign, or if they might make enough money to do it on their own.
