It appears the Wonder Woman solo movie has found its Steve Trevor in the form of Chris Pine. Reports claim the actor is in talks with Warner Bros. to land the role, but is it a good fit?
Chris Pine is the leading man in the rebooted Star Trek franchise, and he has done an excellent job in the role. His strong performance is one of the reasons why the movie is considered as excellent among moviegoers, so if he can bring a similar performance to Wonder Woman, we're sure fans will be happy.
For those who are unaware, the character Steve Trevor is a love interest of Wonder Woman. During World War 2, his plane crashed on Paradise Island, and there he was found by the Amazonians. After returning home, Princess Diana, out of curiosity for the outside world and because she grew to like Trevor, followed him, and thus the story of Wonder Woman began.
Recent rumors have claimed that Scott Eastwood was the top choice for Steve Trevor, but he chose to take a role in Suicide Squad instead. Furthermore, Pine was rumored to have been linked to the new Green Lantern movie, but it now seems that is off the table.
Should Chris Pine sign for Steve Trevor, he will not be able to take on the role of Green Lantern unless Warner Bros. chooses to do something incredibly crazy, which would likely not go down well with the fanbase.
With the possibility of Pine being Steve Trevor, we have to wonder which actor will wear the green ring? The months and years ahead should be interesting.
Wonder Woman is set to be released in 2017 with director Patty Jenkins at the helm. The movie was supposed to be directed by Michelle MacLaren, but she and Warner Bros. had a falling out just months after she was hired for the job. Apparently, she wanted too much creative control over the project, and she and Warner Bros. failed to agree on a single thing.
