Encountering issues logging into your PlayStation Network (PSN) and Xbox Live accounts? You're not alone as the services are facing outages (web and console) and Lizard Squad is claiming responsibility for the same!
The group is up to its shenanigans again and took to Twitter to taunt gamers as it claimed responsibility for the PSN outage on Friday, May 15.
The group tweeted an ominous "we're back" with the PSN status attached to assert their claims for waging the attack.
The PSN acknowledged the outage and the status message on its site read: "You may be experiencing issues related to launching games, applications, and/or social features such as trophies, messaging, or friends list. We appreciate your patience while we address this." PSN also took to Twitter to placate users.
It also revealed that it was working on resolving the issue.
Lizard Squad did not stop there and tweeted a "What's next" forewarning.
Soon Xbox Live started experiencing issues with both Xbox One and Xbox 360 encountering problems.
"Hey Xbox members, are you having issues with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare crashing during multiplayer following the latest title update? We are aware and are working to get this resolved ASAP," confirmed the status page for Xbox Live, calling the issue "limted."
While Lizard Squad did not directly confirm that they were responsible for taking down Xbox Live, one can read between the lines.
The group also posted a tongue-in-cheek remark questioning action against it from authorities.
Sony's online PSN services are now up and running as usual per the status update on its site.
