The LG Lancet is the latest Windows Phone offered by Verizon Wireless now available online. It is a low-end smartphone designed for customers who are seeking an affordable handset with premium features.
The LG Lancet comes with a 4.5-inch LCD display with 854 by 480 pixel resolution and runs on a quad-core processor of 1.2 GHz. It has an 8MP rear camera and a VGA selfie camera in the front. Internal storage is set at 8GB, which can be expanded up to 128GB using the MicroSD card slot.
The battery is made of 2,100 mAh lithium ion, which is capable of giving the handset up to 420 hours of battery life on a standby mode and up to 18.5 hours of total usage. It measures 2.55 inches in width while its weight is measured at 0.16 kilogram (5.5 ounces). It comes with a pre-installed Windows Phone 8.1 although it is also getting the Windows 10 Mobile update as soon as it becomes available in the latter part of the year.
While the handset features entry-level specs, it comes with custom software features that include the Knock On double-tap-to-wake and Quick Memo screenshots. Of course, it runs on Verizon's LTE network and is designed with Advanced Calling 1.0 with HD Voice support.
One of the LG Lancet's unique features is the ergonomic design. It also fits perfectly in the hand.
"The LG Lancet is easy to hold when you're on the go," says Verizon on its official site. "The slim and stylish design features a 4.5-inch display that offers plenty of space for viewing photos, videos and websites. The 8-megapixel rear-facing camera shoots clear photos even in low light."
Other features of the handset include virtual assistance from Cortana, Soft Light to keep the display illuminated, bundle-capability with Verizon accessories, customizable Live Tiles for pinning one's favorite apps and people, People Hub, Rooms, Kid's Corner, Games Hub, Smart DJ playlist, access to iTunes music, the Windows Phone Store filled with over 145,000 games and apps, and a whole lot more.
The LG Lancet will hit stores beginning on May 21 and will retail at a cheap price of $120. Verizon Edge customers can have the device for $5 per month on a 24-month subscription.
