The 2015 NFL schedule was released Tuesday night to plenty of fanfare and reaction. The 2015 campaign kicks off September 10 with the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots hosting Big Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium. And that's one of many must-see games this season.
TechTimes scoured through all 17 weeks of the new schedule to pinpoint the best game to watch every week. Put your two arms up—touchdown!
Week 1
Tennessee Titans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tab Jameis Winston with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft and the Tennessee Titans select Marcus Mariota with the second pick, we could see the No. 1 and 2 picks playing against each other in Week 1 of the new season. How cool would that be? If anything happens to derail that, this game will be pretty horrible, though.
Week 2
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
The storyline in this one is simple—the Dallas Cowboys didn't want to pay up to retain the services of running back DeMarco Murray, so he signed with their NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles. Murray, last season's leading rusher with 1,845 yards, will have his first chance to stick it to his former squad during this game. Buckle up, Jerry Jones.
Week 3
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
The Cincinnati Bengals managed to edge the Baltimore Ravens in each of their two meetings last season. Let's see if the Ravens remembered.
Week 4
Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
When these two AFC North division rivals play, it's always a game to watch. Not only do they hate each other's guts and epitomize smashmouth football, but adding to the bad blood is last season, in which the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens split their meetings, before Baltimore defeated their rival in the playoffs. Yeah, this one is going to get ugly. And by ugly, we mean beautiful football.
Week 5
Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
Why this game? Well, because watching J.J. Watt chase Andrew Luck around for three hours as the lone game on Thursday night should be fun. Plus, they're AFC South division rivals.
Week 6
New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts
The New England Patriots ended the Indianapolis Colts 2014 season (with the alleged help of Deflate Gate) en route to winning yet another Super Bowl. Now, the Colts have a shot at payback at their home of Lucas Oil Stadium. Is Andrew Luck ready to assume the forefront of the league's elite quarterbacks. Many believe he already has, but against Tom Brady, it would only serve as reinforcement of that notion.
Week 7
New York Jets at New England Patriots
After winning a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in February, Darrelle Revis rejoined the New York Jets once again in March. Now, Revis Island has a chance to stick it to his former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, quarterback Tom Brady and the rest of the New England organization with Gang Green. This one was made for television.
Week 8
Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots
After signing a mammoth six-year, $114 million deal with the Miami Dolphins last month, Ndamukong Suh is football's highest-paid defensive tackle. Now it's time to earn his money—and possibly put some heavy hits on Tom Brady in the process—against the New England Patriots, who have been the standard for excellence in the AFC East for more than a decade strong.
Week 9
Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts
The Denver Broncos had their 2014 season ended abruptly by Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts during an AFC divisional battle, in which Peyton Manning looked every bit of 38-years-old. Now, here's Manning's chance to tell Andrew that his Luck has ran out in their head-to-head meetings.
Week 10
New England Patriots at New York Giants
With four Super Bowl wins and three Super Bowl MVPs, Tom Brady is a surefire Hall of Fame quarterback. But if it wasn't for Eli Manning and the New York Giants, Brady might be sitting on six rings right about now. Anytime, Eli and Brady meet up, it's a must-see.
Week 11
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots
The good news for all football fans regarding Rex Ryan's jump from coaching the New York Jets to the Buffalo Bills is that we still get to see him pester Bill Belichick at least twice a season. This Monday Night Football matchup marks one of those games. With the Bills, Ryan has already inherited a solid defense to stifle Belichick with. That and LeSean McCoy is no slouch at running back. There could be fireworks on and off the field in this one.
Week 12
New England Patriots at Denver Broncos
How many more times are we going to get to watch Tom Brady go head-to-head with Peyton Manning? This could be it in their storied rivalry.
Week 13
New York Jets at New York Giants
Watching Darrelle Revis trying to defend New York Giants standout wide receiver Odell Backham Jr. alone is good enough reason to tune into this game.
Week 14
Buffalo Bills at Philadelphia Eagles
LeSean McCoy (pictured), a Pennsylvania native, didn't like the way the Philadelphia Eagles traded him to the Buffalo Bills, especially after he rushed for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns for them last season. This is Shady McCoy's revenge game.
Week 15
Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints
The offseason acquisition of center Max Unger should further bolster the New Orleans Saints' running game with Mark Ingram. Even without Ndamukong Suh, the Detroit Lions still boast a solid defensive line. What will give when Ingram tries to move the chains against them?
Week 16
Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tab Jameis Winston in the NFL Draft as expected and Lovie Smith has success with him, then this game could be interesting to see the Bucs' head coach against a Chicago Bears organization that he ran from 2004-12.
Week 17
Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals hobbled their way into the playoffs last season, before being knocked out by the Carolina Panthers in a wild-card loss. The Cardinals can go a long way proving that they're still amongst the NFC's elite by defeating the Seattle Seahawks. This Week 17 matchup might even carry playoff implications. Who knows?
