Galaxy S6 vs. Galaxy S5: New Samsung Infographic Compares Specs, Details, And Features

Samsung has created a new infographic designed to highlight the differences between the company's former flagship handset, the Galaxy S5, and the new Galaxy S6.

All eyes are on Samsung these days as the company prepares to release its latest flagship handsets, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. After making a big splash earlier this month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the new smartphones are set to be released on April 10. Preorders are already open from all the major U.S. carriers, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. Verizon preorders are set to begin on April 1, as previously announced by the company. The flagship smartphone duo will also be available at retail outlets Best Buy, Sam's Club, Target, Costco and Walmart.

In anticipation of the release, Samsung wants consumers to be aware of the differences between its new flagship handset, the Galaxy S6, and last year's version, the Galaxy S5. The company has therefore created a special infographic showing the smartphones side by side and highlighting the many improvements the Galaxy S6 sports over its predecessor.

The Galaxy S6 boasts a richer Quad HD display with a higher pixel count than the S5, along with a better, faster camera and a vastly upgraded front shooter for selfies. The S6 takes 80 minutes to achieve a full charge as opposed to 120 minutes for the S5, and the S6 also supports wireless charging. The speakers have also been significantly upgraded, as has the RAM amount and quality, along with increased memory options up to a full 128GB of built in storage space.

Users will need that storage space more than ever, because the Galaxy S6 no longer contains a microSD card slot as the S5 did. Samsung's infographic fails to illustrate the advantages such as this that the Galaxy S5 has over the S6, with another being that the Galaxy S5 is water resistant, while the Galaxy S6 is not, and the S5 has a removable battery, while the S6 does not.
