At this point, Marvel fans can finally put the 2003 nightmare behind them. The original Daredevil movie was a mess, and everyone knew it - plus, it came at a time when comic book movies weren't always a mega-hit, and many assumed that it would kill the character's chances of making another appearance.
Thankfully, that wasn't the case, and Marvel has teamed up with Netflix to reboot the Daredevil character for its Cinematic Universe.
Fans have been waiting for any new info on the show for some time now, and while there's still a few weeks left to wait for the series premiere, Netflix finally released the first full trailer for Daredevil.
It'd be easy to mistake the trailer for one of Marvel's bigger movie projects - while shows like Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD have always looked like TV shows, Daredevil looks like something else entirely. This isn't just another one of Marvel's ABC shows; this is what happens when a creative team has the freedom and the budget to make a show work.
From Netflix:
"Marvel's Daredevil" is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night."
For the first time ever, it looks like Daredevil fans will have something to be proud of. If the show ends up being anything like the trailer, Marvel could be looking at its next big hit.
Daredevil makes its Netflix premiere on April 10.
