Netflix's 'Daredevil' Gets A Teaser Trailer For A Teaser Trailer

As is the case these days, big-time trailer reveals are often teased with trailers of their own. Such is the case with Marvel's upcoming Daredevil TV show, set to premiere exclusively on Netflix April 10.

So here is the 15 second teaser trailer for a bigger teaser trailer hitting the web tomorrow. It's our first look at Matt Murdock in action.

The brief clip still shows Murdock in his black outfit, not yet having donned his more "comic booky" red devil costume.

Might we see the iconic (albeit much less stealthy) costume reveal in tomorrow full trailer? Hard to say. Showrunners are definitely trying to sell the gritty, in-the-trenches vibe of the Frank Miller Daredevil comics, which focuses more on crime lords like Kingpin than super villains with fantastic powers.

Showrunner Steven DeKnight says the show will be much different from other Marvel works, even though it will technically be a part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe established by films like the Avengers and television shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"It is a little grittier and edgier than Marvel has gone before, but we're not looking to push it to extreme graphic violence, gratuitous nudity or anything like that," DeKnight says. "The story does not require that and I think [it] would suffer if you pushed it that far."

Daredevil will lead the charge in creating a line-up of more down to Earth superheroes shows for Netflix starring Marvel heroes like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, which will eventually lead to the creation of a Defenders miniseries. In fact, Netflix has already released descriptions for each of the shows. You can read up on those here.

As long as this new show can get rid of the sour taste left by Ben Affleck's take on the character, we'll consider Marvel's Daredevil a success.
