HBO's True Detective is currently shooting its second season in Los Angeles, and HBO was kind enough to give fans a brief look at what is in store.
What's in store is, apparently, Colin Farrell's mustache. You can also get a brief look at co-star Taylor Kitsch, but who cares about that. Back to the mustache. This is a thing of beauty, and it only adds to the excitement over the next season. Feast your eyes upon it in the tweet below.
The second season of HBO's hit show is expected to air this summer, but season one stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are nowhere to be found. This new season will follow a whole new set of characters, as Farrell, Kitsch and Rachel McAdams play three detectives attempting to uncover a conspiracy revolving around a murder. Vince Vaughn will also star as the leader of a criminal organization.
Beyond that, not much is known about what season two will have in store. Rumors suggest the conspiracy will involve the interstate that connects northern and southern California. It will also likely incorporate occult themes, as a leaked story synopsis indicates the murder victim that the plot revolves around will be found with "satanic markings" etched on his body.
But that's all rumor at this point. Expect season two to be just as dark and moody as the first season, with the show examining the personal struggles of each of the detectives as they attempt to uncover the central mystery.
One thing we do know is that season two will feature four directors, with Justin Lin directing the first two episodes. The show's first season featured only one director in Cary Joji Fukunaga. Expect more True Detective season two news soon. But be warned: nothing will be more important than the mustache.
