Samsung's impending flagship smartphone - Galaxy S6 - is soaking in the headlines prior to its much-anticipated launch at the MWC 2015 in March.
Leaked images of the alleged Galaxy S6 have found their way online yet again and this time the smartphone is accompanied by the Galaxy S6 Edge.
The "exclusive images" were snagged by CNET Korea and ZDNet Korea and reveal that Samsung is looking to offer the Galaxy S6 in several body styles.
"The images, provided by sources at a South Korean electronics distributor, purportedly show five variants of the electronics giant's new flagship smartphone, including an Edge-style version," reveals CNET.
The five smartphones in the image have Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Edge written on the top-right corner.
The first smartphone from the left looks like the regular Galaxy S6 sans a cover, whereas the second one seems to be donning the cover from South Korea-based smartphone-cover maker Verus.
The fourth and fifth (lying down) smartphones seem curved from the edges (both sides), confirming rumors that the Galaxy S6 Edge will be dual edged.
Insiders from Samsung have confirmed the same to ZDNet, revealing that "'Edge' version of the Galaxy S6 will be dual edged, and that the edged sides will be symmetrical. It will also use aluminium."
The fifth phone in the image seems to have a thick bezel that looks metallic, which is also protruding outwards. This image suggests that the bezel depicted in Samsung's Unpacked Event invite may be hinting at the design of the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Whether both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge will have a unibody design or be fully metallic is not clear from the leaked image.
Recently, the metal housing of the impending Samsung smartphone leaked online and close on the heels was an image that showed off the purported dimensions of the Galaxy S6 have surfaced online.
The leaked photograph gave a glimpse into the alleged schematics of the smartphone, hinting that the Galaxy S6 will be as slim as the iPhone 6. Per the leaked image, the Galaxy S6 will be 6.91 mm thin. The image seems to be the real deal as the placement of the camera sensor, buttons, ports and the heart-rate monitor ties in with the previously leaked metal casing and leaked render of the smartphone from Verus.
Versus has claimed to Phonearena that the dimensions of its renders are accurate and whatever glimpses of the Galaxy S6 the render gives are authentic as well.
With the Samsung Unpacked event at Barcelona slated for March 1, we will have to wait and see what surprises lie in store at the MWC 2015.
