Apple Music's International Music Business Manager, David Emery, shared the latest iOS 18 feature available for its music streaming platform, and it now offers the "New" tab for all to enjoy. It was revealed by Emery that this New tab will be a more "personalized" experience for users who want to discover new songs or artists, offering a more in-depth touch to subscribers' usage.

Emery also assured the public that Apple Music's human editorial team is still behind in its curation and sharing this new experience for users while also using algorithmic features to best match it to personal preferences.

Despite being a global iOS 18 feature, it will feature a unique curation for each user on Apple Music, offering different categories like New Releases, Latest Songs, and Updated Playlists.

The 'New' Tab Replaces the 'Browse' But Brings More to Experience

Apple Music on iOS 18 replaces the "Browse" tab found beside the 'Home' with the 'New' tab, and it is under the four-block square icon on the bar. Previously, users would see the same curated content from Apple Music under Browse, but the Cupertino tech giant took it up a notch to make it more personal.

Now, the most relevant results to one's streaming experience would be found here, based on the work done by Apple Music's human editorial staff.

Apple Music and Its New Features Available

Apple Music is one of the most popular music streaming platforms in the world and it rivals the likes of Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, and more, Cupertino has made sure that it has massive features available to enjoy. One of the significant features here is the availability of music videos which Spotify recently copied, but Apple takes it a step further with Spatial Audio capabilities.

This renowned focus by Apple Music on Spatial Audio is more than what people know of, as it does not expect artists to bring their songs featuring the enhanced experience alone. This is because Apple Music offers more royalties and other rewards for artists who will bring their tracks with Spatial Audio support, with as much as 10 percent higher rates for them.

Additionally, users no longer wait for the last month of the year or the first week of the next one to get the Replay experience, as it is available monthly, all year round.

In this latest iOS 18 update, Apple Intelligence may not yet be here to bring a reinforced experience to Apple Music, but this version already brings more to the experience, dedicating the 'New' tab for better streaming to all.
