The latest release of Apple's iOS 18 fifth beta version is delivering wonders to users, and it is thanks to the 'Distraction Control' feature that recently appeared for beta testers to experience. It can remove the ads that pop up or appear over the content users are consuming on websites, with Safari offering this feature to wipe away the annoying placements.

Instead of being frustrated and sitting there with nothing to do about ads, Apple now gives users the power to snap them out of existence with only a click.

Users are now celebrating online as iOS 18's fifth beta rolled out, with many users singling out Safari's latest feature for users called 'Distraction Control' which can remove ads on websites. By turning on the feature on Safari's settings, users may take away what would normally be extra content appearing when they are browsing or scrolling through the page.

Another user claimed that this feature's UI is designed similarly to Avengers: Infinity War's Thanos snap, with ads, pop-ups, and other annoying content seen dissolving into particles and are blown away when choosing to 'Hide' it.

It would not matter what website users are browsing, as Safari can snap these distractions out of existence with only a tap.

Moreover, it was revealed that the iOS 18 beta's Distraction Control would also remove videos that would follow users while scrolling, but it would only be temporarily doing so. Apple claimed that it would not 'permanently' remove said ads, and visiting these websites would bring back users to square one.

The feature may be accessible on iOS 18 and iPadOS 18's Safari where one would normally access Reader Mode, and tap on 'Hide Distracting Items' that users will identify manually.

Apple's Latest Features on iOS 18

Cupertino made humongous promises with iOS 18 when it introduced the new operating system in June's WWDC 2024, and it has since lived up to the hype claiming it is the "biggest update ever" for the iPhone and iPad. Of course, one of its most awaited features is the arrival of Apple Intelligence, Cupertino's take on generative AI that will offer an on-device experience.

Apart from the nifty features of iOS 18 including the new home screen customization options, iMessage's RCS and message scheduling, satellite texting, improved Game Mode, and more, there are still other significant focuses of the OS. Cupertino introduced Enhanced Privacy Controls to the world from its iOS 18, alongside writing tools that leverage Apple Intelligence's power.

Siri's revamp is already here in the beta, as well as new CarPlay features to enjoy on the latest iPhone operating system, as well as better control over which ads to see on the device. Through the fifth beta's introduction of Distraction Control, the soon-to-arrive feature can remove ads in a click, offering a cleaner and more focused website browsing experience, now on iOS 18.
