Apple iOS 18 Beta Debuts Siri Upgrades, New Features Include Contextual Understanding, UI Revamp

Siri is now smarter, more personalized, but is only via the beta.

Last WWDC 2024 introduced the Siri revamp that the world has been waiting for, and this was released to users now via Apple's latest iOS 18 beta release which offers the improved chatbot. This was alongside its first batch of Apple Intelligence features and experiences that are now on the iOS 18 beta, offering a preview of the most powerfuldevelopment from Cupertino.

Despite iOS 18 launching this September says reports, it will not yet deliver Apple Intelligence for users as it will be available later in the year.

The latest iOS 18 beta release from Apple has given the world its taste of Apple Intelligence, with the technology long sought-after by users, and now delivers the first look at Siri's upgrades. There are two main features that Apple offers for Siri in this release, and this includes its redesigned user interface (UI) which moves away from the Siri logo that would pop up at the bottom of the iPhone.

On the other hand, Apple also introduced the smarter capabilities of the AI voice assistant that has a deeper sense of its products.

That being said, this latest Siri release is not yet quite what Apple introduced during its last event as it still lacks other more powerful and iconic new features.

Siri with Apple Intelligence's Contextual Understanding and New UI

To start with the new and improved Siri revamp, Apple brought its latest UI which will appear on the screen's edge as a light-up animation whenever summoning the AI voice assistant. On the other hand, there is also a taste of its contextual understanding capabilities with this latest version but is more of equipping Siri with smarter capabilities that offer more information.

What iOS 18 Offers Users with New Siri Upgrade

The initial speculations behind Apple's generative AI "revolution" came true when it revealed the latest developments last WWDC 2024, centering on its introduction of Apple Intelligence. One of its most significant applications of the latest AI would be Siri, its renowned chatbot that was regarded to be in dire need of a major upgrade over the past years.

Cupertino later unveiled their work on Siri that is coming via iOS 18, with Apple Intelligence powering the famed AI voice assistant for users, also adding in its OpenAI integration that brings ChatGPT accessible. First off, it will be a more powerful chatbot with the capabilities to understand context and offer a more personal approach, with Cupertino also reworking its UI where it would be all around the iPhone experience.

Since the iOS 18 beta dropped, fans and tech analysts have been waiting for Apple Intelligence's presence to grace the iPhones, one that leverages its generative AI capabilities unveiled during the event. The latest beta release on iOS 18 offers this for users but will be a gradual approach on its feature releases, especially for its integration with the new Siri.
