The service known as Apple Account Card is now available in Australia and Canada, for users to take advantage of this contactless payment system, as well as for the App Store. However, this would only work for users running the latest iPhone operating system version, iOS 17.6, with others needing to wait for the latest software version to access what it has to offer.

More importantly, there are several steps in the process to enable the Apple Account Card for these two new regions where it is now available.

Apple's Account Card which was first made available via iOS 15.5 is now expanding to Australia and Canada after being made exclusive to the United States and Japan region only. However, despite being an old feature introduced in a previous iPhone software version, its availability to the two new areas is only accessible via iOS 17.6

This feature is known to be available in the Apple Wallet app alongside other payment solutions, including the famed Apple Card and Apple Card Savings with Goldman Sachs.

Additionally, while there are similarities to Apple Card like tap-to-pay features only on Apple Stores, it cannot fully access these features.

How to Enable Your Apple Account Card?

First off, users in Australia and Canada need to ensure that their iPhone is updated to the latest iOS 17.6 version to have this accessible via their devices. Next, users only have to tap the "+" button and choose the 'Add Apple Account' Card in their Apple Wallet app.

It was also noted that while it may not work for some immediately, users need to ensure that they have a balance available on their Apple Account to create the card.

Apple Card and the Apple Account

The renowned payment solutions offered by Apple to its users are best known for being a limited service, particularly with its Apple Card which is only limited to the United States. According to Apple CEO, Tim Cook, this is yet to be expanding to other regions because of the multiple requirements of these countries, as well as adhering to its different regulations.

It is known that users may top up their Apple Account balance and have it kept under their Apple ID to have credits available when needed, especially in purchasing on the App Store or physical Apple Stores. In 2022, Apple introduced the Apple Account Card which replaces the iTunes Pass, available on the Apple Wallet via iOS 15.5, but only for US and Japan.

While the Apple Account Card is not as universal compared to the Apple Card, this feature allows users to better manage their expenses and use tap-to-pay services found on Apple Stores. Two years since its limited introduction, Cupertino is now adding Apple Account Card availability regions to Australia and Canada, available on the Wallet app.
