With only a month left before the iPhone 16 Pro comes out, a new rumor hints that it is getting a notable improvement in battery capacity.

As reported by Apple Insider, the iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to feature a new metal-encased battery, offering several advantages. This design is expected to provide better cooling, increased energy density, and an innovative method for breaking the glue that holds the battery in place. These improvements could lead to more efficient battery performance and easier maintenance.

Increased Battery Capacities

A reliable source has reiterated that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will see its battery capacity jump from 4,441 mAh in the iPhone 15 Pro Max to 4,676 mAh. Additionally, the standard iPhone 16 Pro will experience an increase from 3,274 mAh to 3,577 mAh, representing a bit more than a 9% increase. These higher-capacity batteries are likely to contribute to longer device runtimes, assuming other components don't increase power consumption significantly.

Potential Impact of the New A18 Chip

To make these rumors spicier, there is speculation that the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature the new A18 chip. If this chip consumes more power than the current A17 chip in the iPhone 15 Pro, it could offset some of the benefits of the increased battery capacity. However, Apple is known for optimizing its hardware and software to work efficiently together, so the overall impact on battery life remains to be seen.

Minimal Changes to Screen Technology

There haven't been many rumors about changes to the screen technology in the iPhone 16 Pro models. This suggests that any impact on battery life from the display will likely be minimal. Instead, the focus appears to be on improving internal components and battery performance.

With just over a month until the expected release of the iPhone 16 Pro, more leaks and rumors are expected to come and go. The rumored battery enhancements and the introduction of the A18 chip indicate that Apple is continuing to push the boundaries of smartphone technology.

As always, the rumor mill will keep churning until the official announcement, but the prospect of longer battery life and improved performance is exciting for Apple fans.

Regarding other related rumors, Tech Times previously wrote that the new "rose" colorway is coming for iPhone 16 Pro. This was different from the older report which hinted at the "Rose Gold" color. More recently, another rumor said that the new bronze-like colorway will debut for the upcoming Pro model.

Meanwhile, another report claimed that the iPhone SE 4 will have a bigger display compared to its predecessor. Somehow, this iteration will allegedly borrow some features from the iPhone 16.
