A new report from Android Headlines revealed an important leak behind Google's Pixel 9 Pro, claiming that it will offer a previous feature introduced on the Pixel 8 Pro with the new device. It also came with a claim that Google will offer 8K video capturing via the Video Boost feature, helping the device reach the said resolution on each take.

It was speculated by 9to5Google that this has a hidden meaning from Google and that it would not be natively offering 8K video capabilities for the Pixel 9 Pro. That being said, it could also mean that Pixel 9 Pro's hardware may still be limited to 4K resolution for its video and photo, and this is despite Pixel 8 Pro's 50MP Samsung GNK offering 8K.

Video Boost will fulfill the enhancement feature for Pixel 9 Pro's 4K by upscaling the captured video and having it deliver 2x the resolution to the coveted 8K.

Zoom Enhance is Also Coming for Pixel 9 Pro Camera

Additionally, Google will also recycle another feature that it introduced on the Pixel 8 Pro series for the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro lineup with Zoom Enhance, another leaked capability revealed by reports. While still using the digital zoom on Pixel 9 Pro's hardware, Google's Zoom Enhance would help in retrieving the lost details using artificial intelligence.

Google's Pixel 9 Series and What it Offers

As expected from Google's massive 2023 full of its generative AI developments, the following year would feature more of this technology, speculated for the Pixel 9 series. One of the earliest feature leaks that the Pixel 9 lineup will bring would be its new generative AI assistant that would be reportedly called "Pixie AI," and would be powered by Google's Gemini.

The early leak behind of Google's design for the Pixel 9 lineup would move away from its curvy body and take a page from Apple's iPhone series which has long used the flat-edged look. This was recently confirmed by the internet giant with its Pixel 9 teaser videos that it will indeed be sporting the flat-edged design, and this would also be applied to its foldable variant.

While the tech industry is already moving towards the largest resolution of 8K available on flagship devices fromApple's iPhone 15 Pro and Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra, many are expecting to see it with Google. However, that is not quite what the company will offer with the Pixel 9 Pro, as leaks claim it would focus on 4K, with Video Boost to upscale it, alongside Zoom Enhance.
