Google's Pixel 9 series could be bringing the artificial intelligence-generated heat as rumors suggest its coming with an AI-powered note taking during phone calls and new camera panorama features.
It is speculated that the lineup will include the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Pixel 9 Pro XL versions. Before the release, a recent leak suggests that the phones could come with a new AI feature called AI Call Notes. It is claimed that the function records and transcribes calls, displaying a textual overview of the conversation.
Dylan Roussel, a tipster and software engineer, stated on X (previously called Twitter) that the next Pixel 9 series might include an AI Call Notes feature. Although the informant didn't disclose many details about the feature, he emphasized its capability to both record and transcribe phone calls.

AI in the Google Pixel
Google introduced an AI Summarise feature for the Recorder app on the Pixel 8 series last year. The function utilizes the Gemini Nano AI model to analyze audio files and provide a written version of them. Should the AI Call Notes come to the Pixel 9 series, it may utilize comparable technology for implementation.
Yet, there was no information provided regarding the specific AI model for processing and text generation, whether the text generation will occur in real-time or with a delay after the call ends, and if the other party will be informed of the recording and transcription. The tipster also stated that the Panorama mode in the camera will receive a redesign.
Pixel 9 Release Data
Other recent reports concerning the Pixel 9 series also state that the Pixel 9 Pro is scheduled to be unveiled on August 13, only 10 months following its previous version. This faster launch schedule indicates that Google is preparing for a big push in the smartphone industry.
Amongst the excitement surrounding the upcoming next-generation lineup, here are a few things that you can anticipate seeing in the following month.
Tech Times previously stated that the Pixel 9 series will be released before the launch of the iPhone 16. This is accurate at the time of writing.
In terms of its updated appearance, the soon-to-be-released Pixel 9 Pro showcases a redesigned design, moving away from the camera bar look seen in past versions. The latest camera housing design includes a curved bump, smoothly blending the three camera system into the back of the device. Furthermore, the phone seems to still have the temperature sensor that was included with the Pixel 8 Pro.
Google is said to be further committing to AI, with the Pixel 9 lineup expected to highlight its advanced Gemini AI assistant. This strategic decision places the search engine giant in direct competition with Samsung's Galaxy AI and Apple's upcoming Apple Intelligence.
