Online deepfakes are frowned upon, but Meta introduced its AI Studio that banks on this idea, but this one will be at creators' discretion to help them answer fans and followers via Instagram DMs. These custom creator AIs will be the helpful presence of renowned online personalities on Instagram to do their bidding, especially in answering their direct messages.

Before, it was known that not all actors, actresses, and personalities answered their fan mail or engaged with the public on their online messages, something which Meta brings back in this AI era.

Sliding into a creator or famed personalities' DM would usually have it ignored, but for special cases, they get answered. However, Meta wants to change this with its latest introduction of AI Studio to help create custom characters on social media.

Meta introduced the AI Studio with a special feature for Instagram, particularly with its content creators who would usually be busy answering fans or followers who hit them up via direct messages. Instead of being left on "delivered" or "seen," creators may make an AI version of themselves to quickly answer followers whenever they get messages.

This latest offer centers on AI Studio's improved generative AI capabilities built by Meta's latest Llama 3.1 LLM whichalso offers regular users in creating AI characters based on their interests.

AI Answering Machines and Automation

The generative AI era of the present world has brought massive possibilities for users and companies to offer a more in-touch experience with their customers and fans. Among these famed experiences were Samsung's Bixby whichleverages generative AI in offering user's voice to answer calls, and there is also DoorDash's AI answering service to take your orders.

Creating one's AI tailored for their specific needs is no longer new, particularly as the likes of OpenAI and Microsoft already offer this in the form of custom GPTs. Other companies have also followed suit, and an AI-based search platform, You.com, has recently introduced 'Custom Assistants' creation to tweak user experience based on their preferences.

In the past months, Meta's AI executions have seen mixed reviews, particularly with significant controversies on various platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. However, the company expands more on the generative AI experience with the latest AI Studio, with a specific tool for Instagram allowing creators to make AI versions of themselves to answer their followers.
