T-Mobile secured top honors across several categories. Boasting a median download speed of 234.82 Mbps, T-Mobile delivers the fastest overall mobile experience. It's also the most consistent network with a network consistency score of 86.6%. This means that it has reliable connectivity across various locations.

Furthermore, T-Mobile delivers a smooth video streaming experience with a Video Score of 77.78 and a sub-second video start time. It even takes the cake when it comes to video experience specifically on its 5G network.

Verizon Makes Strides

While T-Mobile takes the lead, Verizon shows signs of progress: According to Phone Arena's report, Verizon delivers the fastest speeds on its 5G network with a median download speed of 265.80 Mbps, trailing behind T-Mobile.

What's more, it has the biggest 5G speed increase with a significant 60% increase in 5G download speeds compared to last year. With a Game Score of 88.32 and lower latency, the carrier offers the best gaming experience on its 5G network.

Next to Verizon is AT&T Fiber which delivers the fastest fixed broadband service. When it comes to state rankings, Connecticut reigns supreme for fixed broadband download speeds, while Illinois boasts the fastest mobile network speeds.

Overall Network Improvements

Positively, all major carriers show progress in network speed and consistency. This indicates healthy competition within the US mobile landscape.

Network Coverage Considerations

Despite its current performance lead, T-Mobile still lags behind AT&T and Verizon in overall network coverage, particularly in rural areas. However, T-Mobile's rapid 5G network deployment in urban areas makes it the market leader in those regions.

T-Mobile currently leads the pack in terms of speed, consistency, and video experience. However, Verizon's significant improvements and AT&T's strong presence in fixed broadband indicate a competitive mobile landscape in the US. Consumers have a variety of options to choose from depending on their specific needs and location.

Earlier this month, T-Mobile aced another test but this time with Opensignal's study. According to Tech Times, it's the top US carrier for network performance and customer satisfaction. Despite, several outages and security issues, T-Mobile managed to stay on top of the competition.
